SOVN, a smart sleep hearable solution for teeth grinding & clenching, has just been awarded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 Innovation Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the global consumer technology world.
SOVN is the world’s first smart hearable designed to help chronic bruxers sleep better by reducing excessive teeth grinding & clenching. It uses unique sensors to detect when users are grinding or clenching their teeth and then emits a series of gentle, soothing vibrations to stop the behavior. The connected device also features a mobile app that allows users to visualize their data and understand the impact of various external factors on their grinding/clenching behavior.
The device was developed by a team of engineers and researchers who were looking for a way to help millions of people who suffer from chronic teeth grinding & clenching, a behavior that affects 3 in 10 adults, and can lead to serious dental issues, headaches and pain. In their proof-of-concept demonstration, SOVN was shown to reduce teeth grinding episode by an average of 49%.
SOVN will join 69 other top tech companies selected to represent the Netherlands at the CES, the world’s most influential technology trade show set to take place in Las Vegas on January 5-8, 2023. Similar to last year, the Netherlands will be present at CES with two pavilions: the startup pavilion ‘The Netherlands Tech Square’ and the ‘Next Level Innovations Pavilion’ for scale-ups.
The Innovation Awards are given annually by Consumer Technology Association (CTA) to products exhibiting at CES that are judged to be the most innovative, useful, well-engineered, and well-designed.
“It’s an honor to have SOVN featured alongside other top health innovations at CES,” said Gabriel E. Sáenz, Co-founder and CTO. “Our team has put a lot of thoughts into the design and engineering of the product to create a comfortable solution that improves sleep. It’s wonderful to see our hard work pays off.”
“CES is a great platform to showcase SOVN and share our vision as a sleep health company,” said Selina Tirtajana, Co-Founder and CEO. “We hope that CES will provide us with opportunities for partnerships and investments, to ensure this revolutionary solution becomes available to millions of teeth grinders & clenchers around the world who can benefit from our product.”
